About The Art Therapy Alchemist
Dr. Wednesdae Reim Ifrach is an Art Alchemist, scholar, author, and poet exploring the intersections of somatic reclamation, esoteric ritual, and creative expression. As Program Co-ordinator and Professor of the MA in Expressive Arts Therapy and Counseling at Moravian University, their work centers on bodily autonomy, queer trauma recovery, and expressive arts.
Blending autoethnography, mini-mannequin art therapy, soul collage, reiki, sound frequency, and witchcraft, Wednesdae’s practice treats the body as a sacred canvas for transmutation. They are the author of Queer Expressions and two poetry collections, Hex & Flesh and Skeletons, Sequins, and Kin.
Artistic & Philosophical Statement
My work sits at the intersection of expressive arts,
somatic therapy, and queer embodiment.
I explore how creative practice allows individuals
to access experiences that cannot always be spoken in language, memories held in the body, identities
shaped by culture, and emotions carried through trauma.
Art-making becomes a ritual of survival, a method
of reclaiming the body, and a way to transform pain into meaning.
